CRHS Honors 2008 Nursing Excellence
National Nurses Week was celebrated recently at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. A highlight of the week was the presentation of the Nursing Excellence and Outstanding Preceptor Awards. Nursing Excellence awards are given to one nurse and one nursing assistant from each unit. These awards are voted on by their peers. Criteria for selection included professionalism, teamwork, communication skills, nursing practice skills and punctuality.
The following received Nursing Excellence awards for the year 2008:
DCCC – Donna McCulloch, RN
CCU – Sylvia Grant, RN and Linda Pate, CNA
6th Floor – Betty Long, RN and Patricia Lee, CNA
5th Floor – Terrie Spivey, RN and Kathy Strickland, CNA
4th Floor – Jackie McPherson, RN and Marie Chavis, CNA
Family Birthing Center – Vickie Dixon, RN and JoAn Norris, CNA
Emergency Dept – Elisa Woodard, RN and Vicki Smith, CNA
ASU/PAT/Endo – Melissa Gore, RN and Monique McMillian, CNA
OR/PACU/Central Sterile – Judi Horne, RN and Melissa Hudson, ST
The outstanding Preceptor Award went to Kizzy Ward, RN, from CCU. Kizzy received her award based on her leadership skills, dedication and excellent communication skills.
Columbus Regional is very proud of their entire nursing staff and would like to congratulate those who were honored with these awards.
