Columbus Regional Healthcare System and the Donayre Cancer Care Center have joined forces with one of the most prestigious cancer facilities in the region - Duke University Medical Center - to help people in Southeastern North Carolina batttle cancer.

Utilizing cancer specialists from Duke University Medical Center, patients with various forms of this disease have access to sophisticated diagnostic and treatment resources close to home. Because of this affiliation, cancer patients also have access to some of the latest clinical trials. Our multi-disciplinary team of cancer specialists, including board-certified medical oncologist, work together to develop customized treatment plans so that patients get highly personalized care.

CHEMOTHERAPY SERVICES
Although a patient's treatment is determined by the stage to which the cancer has advanced, many treatment plans include chemotherapy. The staff at the Donayre Cancer Care Center provide chemotherapy services to patients in an atmosphere of comfort and caring. Nurses and staff with specialized skills in oncology and chemotherapy work to ensure that IVs are easily started and that medication and fluids are closely monitored during administration. The staff of the Donayre Cancer Care Center also work to heal the whole person through support groups, pastoral and nutritional counseling, transportation arrangements and home care.
