Diabetes Education Program
CRHS offers a comprehensive diabetes education program to educate newly diagnosed patients or to update diabetics on the most current information available on diabetes. Columbus Regional Healthcare System and the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) are pleased to announce that Dianne Cichero, RN BSN has achieved Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) status. Candidates must meet rigorous education and professional practice experience requirements and complete 1000 hours of documented diabetes self-management training. Achieving the CDE credential demonstrates to patients and employers that the health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for patients with diabetes. Mrs. Cichero is the Director of the Diabetes Education Program at CRHS, which has recently received approval for three additional years of recognition for the American Diabetes Association. Certified by the American Diabetes Association, some of the class topics include:

  • Exercise
  • Drug Therapy
  • Foot Care
  • Complications
