QHR Client Hospital Johnston Health Honored as Top Improver
Brentwood, Tenn. (November 28, 2011) – Press Ganey, the health care industry’s leading performance improvement firm, recently honored QHR client hospital Johnston Health (Smithfield, North Carolina) with its 2011 Top Improver Award. Press Ganey recognizes hospitals in the top three percent of overall improvement score across four measure sets; acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical infection prevention measure sets.
“This award demonstrates Johnston Health’s consistent clinical improvements,” said QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar. “We are proud of the strides our client hospital has taken to ensure its community consistently receives exceptional patient care.”
“We are thrilled to be honored with the Press Ganey’s Top Improver Award,” said Chuck Elliott, president and CEO of Johnston Health. “Everyone at Johnston Health takes great pride in working to continually improve patient care, and this award is a testament to that commitment.”
Press Ganey’s Top Improver Award is based on two years of data from 2009 and 2010 for 26 clinical measures from the acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical infection prevention measure sets were used to calculate quarterly composite scores for each measure set. The resulting four data points for each measure set for 2009 were compared with the respective quarterly data points for 2010 and differences were calculated.
