QHR Client Hospitals Earn $2.7 Million Through Participation in QHR/Gallagher Program
Brentwood, Tenn. (April 1, 2010) – For the second year in a row, participating QHR hospital clients received rebates from a unique and innovative partnership between QHR and Gallagher Healthcare Insurance Services: the QHR/Gallagher Retro Insurance Program. The profit sharing payments – totaling more than $2.7 million – were awarded because the QHR hospital group experienced less than projected risk management expenses.
“This program not only provides our clients with access to a hospital professional liability/general liability insurance plan, but also allows them to benefit when our group meets its risk management goals,” said QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar. “We’re thrilled to see our hospital group – again – enjoying such success through this innovative partnership.”
According to Sollie Bartoe, Area President, Gallagher Healthcare Insurance Services, each hospital that participates in the QHR/Gallagher Retro Insurance Program is underwritten individually, and the HPL and UL premium for each hospital is based on their exposure, location and loss experience. The return premium – up to 50 percent – is determined on a group basis for the member hospitals in each calendar year.
