QHR Employee, Cibola General CEO Named To AHA’s Small or Rural Hospital Governing Council
Brentwood, Tenn. (February 6, 2009) – Kenneth Cochran, a QHR associate serving as CEO of Cibola General Hospital in Grants, N.M., was recently elected to represent Region 8 (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming) on the American Hospital Association’s Small or Rural Hospital Governing Council. His three-year term began January 1.
According to AHA, the Small or Rural Hospital Governing Council is comprised of 18 CEOs and administrators, representing some of the nation’s leading small or rural community hospitals and critical access hospitals. The Council is charged with providing support, communication and advocacy for 1650 section member hospitals. It also provides its members an opportunity to present their views to AHA’s policy-making bodies and to participate in the AHA policy process.
“This is quite an accomplishment for Ken and we’re proud of him,” said QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar. “Ken’s experience and expertise in rural healthcare have meant great things for QHR and its hospital clients. I feel certain that he will prove equally effective in his work with AHA and its Region 8 member hospitals.”
