Brentwood, Tenn. (January 31, 2011) – On March 29, the QHR Learning Institute will present a classroom course titled “Leading from the Middle: Helping Nurse Leaders Succeed.”  The two-day event, to be held at the Quorum Conference Center in Brentwood, Tennessee, will teach participants how to:

  • Manage departmental budgets;
  • Improve staffing and productivity;
  • Recruit, hire and develop the right staff for their hospital;
  • Motivate staff to work hard, do their best and achieve their goals;
  • Assess conflicts and apply resolution tactics;
  • Conform to compliance and employment regulations;
  • Foster a patient-centered focus; and
  • Encourage interdepartmental collaboration.

“This course features a very realistic nurse management simulation that walks participants through the major issues and events nurse managers encounter on a daily basis,” says course leader and QHR senior consultant Christopher Martorella. “Participants should leave with a new – or improved – skill set. They’ll be armed with the information and techniques they need to manage almost any challenge, from budgeting to conflict resolution.”
