QHR’s Ron McArthur Honored

Seldom-presented Award of Merit Celebrates McArthur’s Distinguished Career in Healthcare

Brentwood, Tenn. (November 21, 2008) – Ron McArthur, a regional vice president at QHR, the nation’s largest hospital management company and one of the leading healthcare consulting firms in the United Award of Merit at its annual convention held November 5-7. According to OHA, the Award of Merit recognizes an individual who has exhibited a distinguished, long-term career in the healthcare industry; it is only presented when OHA deems it is appropriate.

It is well deserved,” said QHR Senior Vice President of Operations Bob Vento. “Ron has been a valuable member of the QHR team for many years and is not only held in high esteem by his co-workers, but also by our hospital clients, who benefit the most from Ron’s experience and expertise.”

“Ron McArthur has dedicated more than 30 years to the healthcare industry and has been a strong advocate and supporter of improved management and operations for rural hospitals in Oklahoma for almost two decades,” said Craig W. Jones, president, Oklahoma Hospital Association. “His strong leadership in Oklahoma has strengthened the profession overall.”

McArthur has more than three decades of healthcare experience, including more than 20 years with Quorum Health Resources. As a QHR regional vice president, he is responsible for overseeing management support, advisory services and consulting support to 13 QHR hospital clients in Oklahoma and Kansas. Prior to joining the team at QHR, McArthur served as CEO of two managed hospitals and as assistant administrator of an investor-owned hospital. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, business development, operations improvement, and physician and board relations.

McArthur is a member of the Kansas Hospital Association and the Oklahoma Hospital Association. He is also president of Sooner Heathcare Executives and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a master’s degree in health services administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Utah.
