QHR’s Susan Sanders to Present at 4th Annual Nursing and Quality Leadership Summit

Brentwood, Tenn. (October 2, 2009) – Quorum Health Resources’ Susan Sanders, director of Patient Services, will present at the 4th Annual Tennessee Nursing and Quality Leadership Summit. The event will be held October 28 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Convention Center.

“I am honored to have been chosen to present a nursing success story at the Tennessee Nursing and Quality Leadership Summit,” Sanders said. “This year’s summit topic – “Clinical Excellence: Putting
Evidence into Practice” – is extremely exciting. My poster presentation will focus on retaining nurses through the development of professional work – a valuable method of increasing both patient and nursing satisfaction.”

“We are excited and proud that Susan has been awarded this opportunity to share her knowledge with other healthcare professionals,” said Pat Cooper, vice president and Clinical Operations practice leader at QHR. “Susan is such an appropriate presenter for the conference. She recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP), a degree that is a departure from the traditional Ph.D. in that it teaches you to become an expert user of existing evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.”

The Tennessee Nursing and Quality Leadership Summit is hosted by the Tennessee Nursing Partners Collaborative and the Tennessee Association for Healthcare Quality, and held in conjunction with the
Tennessee Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting. This year’s summit features keynote speaker Dr. Ronda Hughes, author of Patient Safety & Quality: an Evidence-based Handbook for Nurses, who will
address the challenges and opportunities associated with improving care.
