Brentwood, Tenn. (January 30, 2012) –On February 7, 2012, The Rural Health Care Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona will feature a presentation by Robert A. Vento, Senior Vice President of Operations at Quorum Health Resources (QHR), and Melissa Fraser, Board Chair of West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyoming. Vento and Fraser will discuss how rural hospitals can benefit from affiliation opportunities.

“Independent stand alone hospitals are experiencing the same challenges as others in this volatile healthcare environment. What’s most important is that they can remain independent, financially sound and in control of their community asset, if that’s the vision of the board,” said Robert A. Vento, Senior Vice President of Operations at QHR. “It’s critical for these boards to have strong leadership and the right team of advisors to help them understand the path to accomplish their goals. We are excited to have the opportunity to reach hospital trustees with this optimistic message.”

“Our hospital is in a rural area but we experience competition in our market. Our long term goal has been to develop collaborative opportunities with other hospitals and physicians, to provide the services our community needs while remaining independent,” said Melissa Fraser, Board Chair of West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyoming. “I look forward to sharing our success story.”

The American Hospital Association (AHA) and Health Forum’s Hospitals & Health Networks Daily will launch an exclusive video interview with Vento and Fraser on Hospitals & Health Networks Daily on February 8. At that time, the video will be posted on: http://www.hhnmag.com/hhnmag/HHNDaily/HHNDaily.dhtml.
