The coaching component of the curriculum provides follow-up practice and support for the concepts and skills introduced at on-site classroom sessions and provides an opportunity for hospital managers to take what was learned in class back to their departments for dissemination.
Coaching for both senior leaders and managers is provided as needed by the organization. Coaching often follows the whole group classroom sessions, adding a second day to the curriculum and cutting travel costs. Several types of coaching and modes of delivery are offered:
Executive Coaching: Executive coaching is designed to support senior leaders and provides instruction and practice on the communication and support skills that will bring about systematic and lasting change for the hospital’s mid-level managers.
Mid-Level Manager Coaching: This coaching follows up on the skills introduced in the on-site classroom sessions and prepares the managers to take learned skills back to their departments for further dissemination.
