Coding Compliance Review
The CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) model plan requires at least one external coding review annually.
QHR offers a cost effective and minimally intrusive review while training your coders to improve their coding accuracy. And our
Coding Hotline offers recommendations on how to code challenging patient records or targeted DRGs on an ongoing basis.
QHR coding specialists have helped hundreds of hospitals enhance coder skills and meet the CMS model compliance plan
for acute care hospitals.
The HR Coding Compliance Review consists of an off-site review of 30 patient records randomly selected for each patient type
(IP, OP), per coder, and can be done on a quarterly basis. The review time frame can also be tailored to the hospital's needs.
The final report from QHR includes:
■ The PPS accuracy rate for your organization
■ Overall coding accuracy rate for your organization
■ Coding and PPS accuracy rate for each coder identified
A one-hour conference call with your HIM director will be scheduled within 30 days of delivery of
the final report, to review the data and answer any follow-up questions.
